My First Bento

Not exactly how I imagined it would turn out. The fish shaped rice were too small. No wonder why you mostly see it in kids lunches.

Bento

So after reading couple of blogs about Bento I started getting into it. Well techincally I haven't made a Bento yet, but I have all the supplies. I got these cute rice mold things. I wonder if I can use brown rice in rice molds. Brown rice doesn't have that gluttonous texture like white rice does.

Rice Krispies

Finally got to make Rice Krispies. Forgot to bring them to work so I could send it to my bro. Good thing is that I never got a chance to send it out so hopefully i'll remeber tonight.

RR

When I went to the doctor's today they had Rachel Ray on the TV. I overheard someone say that they couldn't stand RR and compared her voice to nails moving across a black board. I knew a lot of ppl dislike RR, but never really heard it myself. Kinda funnie.

So much for trying to bake/cook more. I was trying to make rice kripies to send up to my bro when I found out I didn't have enought mini mallows, but there was a bag of big mallows. As I was putting in the bag mallows. I discovered a bug in it. I was like WTF. This bug crawled into my bag, which I assume I didn't close well, and end its life in my bag. Well that's how I put it. In the beginning I was making excuses about not making the rice krispies, but then I was like ok what the heck just make it and I couldn't. I since I melted the butter I had to throw that out to. What a waste. I'm such an unprepared baker. I'll think I have all the ingredients but when I start baking I realize I don't. I've had to run to the store in the middle of baking before...un-cool.

Cupakes n things

Surfing around "the cupcake takes the cake" the had a links of cupcake places around the world. I was really surprised to see that there is a cupcake place in Taiwan. The next time I go there I must check the place out. I don't really have a good tongue when it comes to food, but sure do know my desserts. Then again maybe not cos I ate cheesecake at Denny's once and it was ok to me. I just love desserts.

So my New Years resolution as an occasional baker is to try not to be an occasional baker and to bake more.

I don't know what's going on with the oven. Its making me look like I can't bake. I mean i'm just trying to bake some store bought dough and its not baking right. I don't understand. Maybe my ovens isn't responding well to cookies. I baked a cobbler fine, but baking cookies is giving me trouble. annoying

Pinkberry

So I finally tried "crackberry" this weekend. It was good. Not omg I can't wait to have it again. Its kinda like Beard Papa, its good, but not something to get crazy about. I just don't understand how ppl can get hooked on Pink Berry. At first my sis said it was ehhh, but I was like I have to try it for myself. Its not ice cream, you can kinda call it frozen yogurt, but the slight tang doesn't really qualify it as regular yogurt. They had shaved ice on the menu. I didn't know Koreans eat shaved ice. At first I was like isn't that a Taiwan thing. Cos I was thinking Hawaiians have their kind of shaved ice and Mexico/South America has their shaved ice, so I was like confused. I guess I don't know much about food.

Oh so my gift from my secret santa at work was baking stuff. I was like sweeeeet. I got this cupcake holder, springform pans, & measuring cups. I think i'm try to see if I can exchange the pans & measuring cups for an upgraded version cos I rather have non-stick springform pans.
